History:
The Sagebrush chapter is still active in Southern Nevada, but its website does not list officer names. It is a nonprofit organization that volunteers and works with veterans in need. With the support of the Leatherneck Club and the Marine Corps League, both in Las Vegas, along with the greater Las Vegas community, it looks forward to being able to make an impact. A vintage 1974 newspaper clipping from the Reno-Gazette Journal announced that a Northern Nevada chapter of the Women Marines Association had been organized. It was associated with the Las Vegas Sagebrush chapter. Sagebrush Chapter Vice President Catherine Vaccaro along with Area 5 Director Mary Olson, visited Reno and assisted the new chapter with formulating its by-laws. The newly elected Northern chapter president was Lynda Britt of Yerington.
