Memorial can be viewed during business hours and on weekends while standing on the property. The post itself is open Mon-Thu 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Fri., 9 1.m.-12 midnight. Saturday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Sun. 8 a.m.-10 p.m. However the memorial is easily visible from the sidewalk day or night.

History:

Post 10047 calls itself “The Friendliest Post in Nevada.” The national organization uses the catchphrase, “No one does more for veterans.” There are three qualifiers for membership in the VFW, as set out in the by-laws. An individual must meet all three in order to become a VW member. They are as follows:
1: Citizenship – applicant must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. National.
2: Honorable Service – must have served in the Armed Forces of the United States and either received a discharge of Honorable or General (Under Honorable Conditions) or be currently
serving.
3: Service in a war, campaign, or expedition on foreign soil or in eligible hostile waters as determined by the VFW.
