Unique sculptured memorial with 3-D figures of a kneeling Special Forces (Green Beret) soldier consoling a young boy whose right arm is in a sling and who is using his left arm to hold a crutch for balance. Figures are mounted on a thick marble base that also contains an engraved plaque. The plaque reads, “U.S. Army Special Forces, Chapter 51, Las Vegas, NV. Liberator, Defender, Healer, Teacher, Builder, Soldier. ‘The Green Berets’.”

History:

George Morton/Harry Munck Special Forces Chapter 51, Las Vegas. The Special Forces Association is a non-profit fraternal organization for current and retired U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers, also known as “Green Berets.” Established in 1964, the association is based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with 84 chapters worldwide. Chapters meet in their respective areas and conduct meetings, hold reunions and host social functions for their members. Membership is open to any person who is or has been a member of Special Forces, including those in the U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard.
