History:
Memorial dedicated March 2018. The chapter is named for Tibor Rubin, a Jewish Army corporal who was a Holocaust survivor. He enlisted to thank the nation and the troops who rescued him from a German concentration camp. In Korea, he distinguished himself by manning a weapon in an exposed position where three soldiers had already died. He fought until his ammunition was exhausted. Wounded and captured, he was sent to a POW camp for 30 months. In 2015 President George W. Bush awarded Rubin the Medal of Honor. The recognition was delayed for many years attributed to anti-semitism.
