History:
Dedicated Sept. 30, 2020. The project began as an Eagle Scout proposal by Boy Scout Alex Ngo of Boy Scout Group 228. Although the Scouts did not move forward with the project, Ngo contacted several other non-profit groups including the Sunset Garden Club, the Veterans Action Group, and the Blue Star and Gold Star Mothers, and wrote a formal proposal. He presented it to the Henderson Park District, which gave approval for the project and donated a site in Acacia Park. Monetary donations were sought, and monies and donations in kind were obtained.
