Oliver Merlin Peacock, son of Oliver and Charlotte Peacock, was born at Manti City, Utah, May 30, 1889. He moved with his parents to White Pine County, Nevada, where they made their home at Lund. Oliver entered the service of the United States on October 5, 1917, and in the course of time was assigned to Headquarters Company, 161st Infantry, 41st Division. He served in France eight months and was invalided home and sent to Phoenix, Arizona, where on February 9, 1919, he passed away.

Oliver possessed one of those characters which made him loved and respected by all who knew him. When his Country called her young men to defend her, he went ready and willingly to do his part in upholding the cause of right and freedom. He did his part well and offered his all as a good true American. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Peacock, Lund, Nevada, his father’s death having occurred soon after his own.
